We are situated at Two Mile Bay which is a great swimming and boating beach with sandy shores. The launching ramp for boats is just 200 metres away, and we have plenty of parking available for boats.
The motel is backed by a four-hectare public reserve, great to run your dog, or just enjoy the green open spaces. The Lions walking and cycling track is directly across the road alongside Lake Taupo and takes you into town or south to Five Mile Bay. We provide bikes to hire at a minimal cost.
Directly across the road there is a café/bar with sail boards and kayaks for hire. A restaurant in the tradition of an English village pub, just 500 metres away.
Our Lakehouse Villa is available for large groups and we can provide extra equipment for schools or sports groups.
The giant Mine Bay Māori rock carving of Ngātoroirangi on Lake Taupō has been hailed as one of New Zealand’s most extraordinary contemporary Māori artworks. Towering 14-metres above the deep water of Lake Taupō. Sculpted over the course of four years and completed in 1980.

Home to one of the best wild trout fisheries in the world, there’s great fishing in all seasons, from pristine backcountry fishing on the region’s many tributary rivers in winter, to spring smiling action along the river mouths and beaches, excellent dry fly fishing through summer, and autumn migration runs up the lake tributaries.

At the heart of New Zealand's central volcanic plateau sits the largest freshwater lake in Australasia, Lake Taupō. This huge, shining expanse of water, moving between aquamarine blue and jade green, is crystal-clear to a depth of 13 metres. It is home to one of the best wild trout fisheries in the world, more than 30 species of water bird, several types of native fish and native kōura (crayfish).
There are few things more relaxing than spending an afternoon soaking away aches and pains in the on-site Hot Tub.
